Your main courses are Aloo Gobi Masala (potatoes and cauliflower in fresh herbs and spices), Dhingri Mattar (mushroom and peas curry) and Chicken Pasanda (a mild, creamy almond curry). Your dinner is accented with Cilantro-Mint Chutney and ends sweetly with the world-famous Kheer, or Indian rice pudding.

Hungry now? Come to Georgetown and we’ll serve you all of the above on request. Or perhaps you are now inspired to practice your home cooking.

Whichever path you choose, we trust you’ll find the culinary journey most tasteful!

National Salsa Month

May is National Salsa Month and we’re celebrating its Eastern and Western styles.

If you’re looking for classic Tex-Mex chips and salsa, look no further than Fiesta. Our Dupont Circle tapas restaurant and lounge serves a housemade salsa with a dash of Worcestershire sauce for a distinctive flavor.

Our Indian-style salsa is our spicy tomato chutney, new on our Georgetown menu. We serve this zesty Eastern salsa with our Shrimp on a Hopper appetizer. Of course, it can be ordered a la carte in the Accompaniments section as well.

Whether you celebrate with Eastern or Western flavors -- or both! -- we wish you a Happy National Salsa Month!

It’s muggy, overcast and rainy, but the good news is that it’s also National Strawberries and Cream Day!

We can offer you something close for dessert. It has strawberries and it’s definitely creamy.

Give your taste buds a taste of summer at our Dupont Circle restaurant, where you can finish your meal with our luscious cheesecake, accompanied by juicy strawberries.

If this is how you celebrate National Strawberries and Cream Day, it will unquestionably be a happy day. Enjoy!

A Worldly Curry: Introducing Hyderabadi Murgh Haleem

We introduce you to Hyderabadi Murgh Haleem, one of the new curries we’ve added to our Georgetown menu.

Literally meaning “patient” and “merciful,” Haleem is a thick Arabic-Persian-Iranian-India dish. Although this dish may vary in preparation from region to region, it essentially is made up of wheat, lentils, barley and meat. We prepare ours with ground chicken.

Murgh Haleem

This dish is slow cooked for seven to eight hours, which results in a stew-like consistency, blending the flavors of spices. Haleem can be served with chopped mint leaves, lemon juice, coriander leaves, fried onions, chopped ginger root, and/or green chilies and is usually eaten with naan.

Vote for DC’s Best Vegetarian Dishes

The Washington Post is asking readers to name their favorite vegetarian dishes in the city. We are campaigning on behalf of our Sag Paneer, Makhamali Kofta and Baigan Mirchi ka Saalan.

Please vote for your favorite!

Makhamali Kofta, a Winning Candidate!

Email goingoutguide@washpost.com, tweet to @goingoutguide (hashtag #veggieeats) or comment on Facebook at www.facebook.com/goingoutguide.

You’re asked to include your name and city so you can be recognized when the results are published in Weekend and the Going Out Guide.

The original story is here at “Calling all foodies: We’re seeking Washington’s essential veggie eats.”

We know we serve winning food. Let’s tell the city just how exceptional it is. Thanks for your vote of confidence!

PS: Makhamali Kofta is only available at our Georgetown restaurant. In our (not-so-humble) opinion, it’s worth a visit if you’ve only dined at our Dupont Circle restaurant.

Wine Specials in Georgetown

Our white wine of the week is Cono Sur 2010 Chardonnay from Chile. Wine.com describes it as “bright yellow with beautiful golden hues, this is an exuberant Chardonnay. Fresh citrus and fruit aromas of white peach are offset nicely by mineral hints. The palate is complex and fruity with more mineral hints. This is a young, fresh wine with a very balanced flavor and great acidity.”

We’ve got it on special in Georgetown for $16.50, regularly $29.

Marques de Caceres Rioja Crianza 2008 is our Spanish red of the week. Awarding it 88 points, Wine Spectator said, “this focused red is subtle but harmonious, with well-integrated flavors of black cherry, toast, herbs and spice layered over fine tannins. Crisp and fresh.”

It’s specially priced at $20, regularly $36.

Cheers!

Georgetown Weekly Wine Specials

Let your wine glass take you around the world. This week's Georgetown wine specials are from New Zealand and Argentina. Though Argentina is best known for its reds, we're featuring a white on special this week.

The Crios Torrontes has "enticing aromas that are strikingly similar to Viognier, with hints of peach pit, white pear, flowers, and orange citrus fruit. On the palate, it has beautiful structure and acidity similar to Sauvignon Blanc along with enticing fruit flavors that keep you coming back for another sip and plenty of body for a wine that shows such delicate aromas and flavors." It's specially priced at $20, regularly $35.

The special red of the week is a pinot noir from New Zealand's Sherwood Estate, with intense juicy raspberry and cherry flavor. It's on special for $26, regularly $40. Cheers!
