Fruit of the Vine, Half Price

We’re spilling even more wine secrets, as though the weekly wine and beer specials weren’t tantalizing enough.

Sip fine wine and save a dime during our half-price wine sale. A special basket inside the restaurant holds limited quantities of premium wines, available on a first come, first served basis. When they’re gone, they’re gone. Fine wine for 50% fewer dimes ... what’s not to love?

Here’s what the basket currently holds.

Cono Sur 2010 Riesling, Chile
The winemaker describes this wine as “great, with a strong personality.” Its “clean cut, sharp and distinct notes of citrus – lemon, lime and grapefruit – mingle in with quince and white flower touches. In the mouth, it is fresh, balanced and full bodied.”
Sale price: $14.50 (Regularly $29)

La Châsse du Pape Côtes du Rhône Prestige 2009 White Blend, France
“Fruity and well balanced, it develops delicate aromas of white flowers and citrus, combined with a harmonious structure,” notes the vintner.
Sale price: $17.50 (Regularly $35)

Emeritus 2008 Pinot Noir, Russian River, California
Sultry and elegant, with the fragrance of fresh cut flowers
Sale price: $35 (Regularly $70)

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, this wine has pronounced minerality and “toasted-leaf aromas,” coupled with “lots of sweet fruit to match.”
